Theory

Music theory practice

Intervals, key signatures and the circle of fifths, scales and modes, chords and inversions, rhythm and meter, transposition, musical terms, and score reading. Questions are shown on a real staff, and every question has an explanation with the notation and a keyboard diagram—free, at every level.

Key signatures and the circle of fifths

Name the key from its signature, find the dominant, subdominant and relative keys, and read key changes in real scores.

Practice exam

A timed test of 20 questions in 20 minutes, drawn from every category. Answers stay hidden until you submit.

Ear training

Ear training

Identify intervals, chords, chord inversions, the notes inside a chord, and single notes by ear. Exercises are generated on the fly, so the training never runs out, and you can listen as many times as you like.

Melodic dictation practice

Listen to a melody and write it on the staff. Your answer is graded.

Sight singing practice with pitch grading

Sing a melody at sight. Solfe grades your pitch and timing on your device; the recording never leaves the app.

Rhythm trainer

Read the rhythm on the score and tap it. Your timing is graded.

Review

Review what you missed

Spaced repetition brings back the questions you got wrong just before you forget them. Your results build up topic by topic, so you can see your weak spots and practise only those.

Ask AI about a question

If an explanation does not click, ask AI about that question. (Answers are generated by AI; if one conflicts with the explanation, the explanation is correct.)
